I have a weakness for obsolete technology in general, and typewriters in particular.
This is a marvelous video about a small Chicago business with plenty of clickety clack. He even sells typewriter ribbon!
And here’s footage of lots of antique typewriters from a shop in Portland, OR:

I recently found a cool one and, uh… modified it… http://kissmyaster.blogspot.com/2008/07/variations-on-sedum-wreath.html
Oh I have a blue one just like that, but mine has the deluxe wood grain.
Frank, I have a similar audio memory…but mine is based on the TV show Lou Grant.
P.S. You’re right, that Alice Cooper hologram was definitely at a Dali show. Cool!
Thanks for the vid. I love “hole in the wall” repair shops. Especially those that have lasted for decades (and are still going strong, regardless of external change!).
Also, I remember when computer workstations replaced the electric typewriters in our local newsroom . . . and how silent everything had become. The click clack of typewriters added an excitement that has never been replaced — at home, work or elsewhere.
